Chelsea Court Meat Market Closes

One of the last of an ever-shrinking group of old-line butcher shops has to decided to hang up the knives and sweep the sawdust out of the shop. Chelsea Court Meat Market will wrap its last choice cut this Saturday, April 18. Owner Anthony Sigismondi told Chelsea Now that his lease is up and he’s decided not to renew.
In a message written on a dry erase board in the shop Sigismondi, whose family has run the shop for the past 49 years, wrote, “I never considered the butcher shop just a business, but my way of life.”
