Scribner Gets Heartburn
The Bacon Explosion doesn’t just make you fat; it makes you rich. Well not you, actually. It made its inventors rich. As reported by Publisher’s Marketplace, the guys have nabbed a book deal worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. The forthcoming book from Scribner, titled “Barbecue Makes Everything Better,” is based on the website that spawned the heart-stopping log of pork. This is the last blog-to-book we need ever hear about. One would have thought they’d stop at Postcards From Yo Mamma. And this on the heels of Lauren Conrad’s three-book deal for novels based on her life on “The Hills.” Print deserves to die, and should take publishing along with it.
